Job summary

Washington Radiology is seeking a Mammography Technologist Trainee to join our care team. Trainees will receive paid training in mammography and can expect employment guaranteed after passing the mammography registry.

Positions are available PRN, part-time and full-time across locations in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC/ Maryland area. The role emphasizes patient education and high-quality imaging excellence.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and ARRT Radiography certification.
  • Students must be in their final semester of Radiologic Technology program.
  • Interest in training in mammography as an advanced modality.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Trains with a preceptor to consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique.
  • Learns to prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
  • Learns to produce high‑quality films for the radiologist to evaluate.
  • Develops the ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
  • Maintains patient‑first focus and exhibits outstanding customer service skills.
