Job summary

Arlington Heights Memorial Library in Arlington Heights is seeking a Makerspace Advisor to support customers, teach equipment use, and develop hands-on programs for the Makerplace, an 8,000 sq ft stand-alone space.

You will lead one-on-one and group workshops, create templates and materials, troubleshoot equipment, and stay current with maker technologies to keep the Makerspace welcoming and inspiring.

Qualifications

• Genuine enthusiasm for making and hands-on learning.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to teach in one-on-one and group settings.
• Experience with maker technologies (3D printers, laser cutters).

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with Makerspace equipment and tools.
• Lead workshops for various ages and skill levels.
• Develop classes, templates, and instructional materials.
• Troubleshoot equipment and maintain a welcoming space.
• Stay current on maker technologies and trends.
