Job summary

Glenview Public Library seeks two Innovation Services Technicians to join our Makerspace team in Glenview, IL. These are part-time positions (18 hours/week) with a pay rate of $20.83/hour, supporting patrons with laser cutting, 3D printing, sewing, electronics, and more.

You will guide users, provide instruction, and help create engaging programs for patrons of all ages, while delivering excellent customer service in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some technical training preferred.
• Minimum of one year work experience with maker equipment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License and access to a vehicle with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and aids Library users in makerspace equipment and software; provides one‑on‑one and group instructions.
• Creates a patron‑friendly environment with high levels of customer service.
• Greet patrons courteously and professionally.
• Plan, design, promote, present, and evaluate makerspace programs for all ages.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform simple repairs as applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
