Job summary

Glenview Public Library seeks two Innovation Services Technicians to support makerspace activities, including laser cutting, 3D printing, sewing, and design work. Each position is part-time at 18 hours per week with Technician 1 and Technician 2 shifts on evenings and weekends.

You will train patrons, provide friendly service, troubleshoot equipment, and help design and present makerspace programs for all ages, while collaborating with a diverse community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent technical training.
• One year minimum experience with maker equipment and technologies.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Illinois driver's license and insurance.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Instructs library users in makerspace equipment and software; provides one-to-one and group instruction.
• Delivers exceptional customer service and greets patrons professionally.
• Plans, promotes, presents, and evaluates makerspace programs for all ages.
• Troubleshoots equipment and performs simple repairs as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
