Job summary

Helen M. Plum Memorial Public Library District seeks a creative, hands-on individual to join Studio 411, our makerspace, to help patrons bring ideas to life through 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, audio production and more.

The role emphasizes teaching, problem-solving, and working with your hands in a library setting, with evening and weekend hours and a culture that celebrates curiosity and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or LTA.
• Available to work on evenings and weekends.
• Experience with creative projects like sewing, knitting, quilting, 3D printing, laser cutting, audio production or maker projects.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains an environment of learning and exploration for Studio 411 users.
• Promotes a culture of creativity within the Library and Lombard community.
• Develops and presents programs in Studio 411 as part of a team.
• Assists patrons utilizing Studio 411, including facilitating appointments and helping during drop-in hours.
• Promotes Library services, programs, and resources.
• Operates and maintains Studio 411 equipment.
