Ogden City is seeking a Part-time Maintenance Worker in the Public Services Refuse Division. The role supports Green Waste Facility operations, including manual labor, equipment handling, and customer service.
The position involves up to 29 hours per week with Saturday shifts required, outdoors in varying conditions, and a focus on safety and reliable operation of heavy and powered equipment.
Qualifications
- > Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.
- > Knowledge of tools used in maintenance and solid waste operations and precautions around machinery.
- > Ability to safely operate, or learn to operate, equipment and powered tools.
- > Learn computerized point-of-sale and record-keeping systems; handle money.
- > Must provide strong customer service, communicate effectively, work independently and with a team.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as log splitters, woodchippers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, and pressure washers.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
- Provide courteous customer service to residents and visitors.
- Operate POS system, handle cash, balance the cash drawer, and maintain inventory.
- Follow safety policies and use PPE while working around equipment and customers.
