Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance in a secure facility environment. You will lead a diverse team and ensure availability of materials while completing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills to interact with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of general maintenance and/or related construction trade experience.
• Valid, active driver’s license required.
• Must have knowledge of equipment and be able to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Able to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Effectively communicate with residents and staff; react quickly in emergencies.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be a United States citizen.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey assigned jobs and ensure materials and tools are on hand.
• Direct and inspect detainee maintenance staff, providing technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
• Carry out repairs for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform electrical work, including fixtures, switches, and wiring.
• Execute minor construction work with hand and power tools.
• Complete mechanical work involving repair and maintenance of facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining the security of assigned detainees.
