Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse in El Paso, TX. The LVN will deliver care within a community setting using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.

The role involves collaboration with individuals, family members, and health team members while upholding professional nursing standards. Responsibilities include coordinating care with physicians, updating ISPs/PCPs, training staff on medical needs, monitoring health and medications, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nursing field.
• Minimum of one year of experience providing nursing services to individuals with disabilities.
• Valid nursing license.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with an individual receiving supports.
• Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations.
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of checks (criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, drug testing).

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician.
• Ensure individuals attend medical appointments per ISP.
• Advise supervisor of concerns related to nursing services.
• Develop and update ISP/PCP with interdisciplinary team.
• Train employees on medical needs of assigned individuals.
• Monitor health and refer for medical services as needed.
• Monitor medication administration logs.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or inquiries.
