Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide nursing care in a community setting.

The LVN will deliver care using the nursing process, interact with individuals, families, and health team members, and maintain professional nursing standards. The role requires a nursing license, one year of relevant experience with individuals with disabilities, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nursing field.
Minimum of one year of nursing services experience with individuals with disabilities.
Valid nursing license.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages.
Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations.

Responsibilities

Provide treatment and health care procedures ordered by a physician and required by professional standards or law.
Ensure individuals attend medical appointments per their ISP.
Advise supervisor of concerns related to nursing services.
Develop and update ISP/PCP with an interdisciplinary team.
Train employees on medical needs of assigned individuals.
Monitor health conditions and refer to medical services as needed.
Monitor medication administration logs and ensure accuracy.
Maintain program documentation and billable records.
Build a support network with community members and families.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or inquiries.
