Job summary

Western State Hospital in Staunton, VA is hiring part-time LPNs for 1st and 2nd shifts. Candidates must be able to work 4-, 8-, or 12-hour shifts on weekends and holidays, with a minimum of 64 hours per month. LPNs provide direct patient care in a 24/7 psychiatric hospital and may work overtime during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must have a Current LPN license that is eligible to be utilized in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities, including medication administration.
• Ability to implement nursing care plan and provide guidance to other staff.
• Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff. Effective communication (written, verbal and sign).
• Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team; assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 24/7 psychiatric hospital.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Supervise and guide PNA staff under RN supervision.
• Administer medications and document patient education and response.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and adhere to care plans.
