Job summary

The New School’s College of Performing Arts is seeking an Overhire Board Operator to support audio and video needs for performances and partner events. You will work under the Audio & Video Supervisor, handling projections, video, and audio where live mixing is not required.

This is an as-needed, overhire position without guaranteed weekly hours, with opportunities for renewal based on institutional need and funding. Expect to collaborate closely with students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of Qlab 5, Isadora, Millumin, Watchout, or other projection software.

Responsibilities

Take cues from stage management during tech and performances.
Assist in programming of video content using Qlab, Watchout, Millumin, Isadora, or other software.
Understand and execute the technical aspects of each design, including signal flow plans and ground plans.
Setup, patch, and test microphones and speakers per sound designer’s specs.
Direct technicians and stage crew to deliver the University’s standard.
Setup, operate, and strike equipment before, during, and after events.
Provide professional, courteous service to all parties.
