Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking a part-time Music Director to lead the parish’s sacred music program under the guidance of the pastor, coordinating music for weekend Masses and Holy Days.

Responsibilities include selecting music, rehearsing with the choir weekly, scheduling musicians, preparing budgets, ensuring licenses and copyright compliance, and developing a sacred music library to support diverse liturgies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music or related field required or strongly preferred.
• Proficient in organ, piano, choral conducting, and vocal coaching.
• Knowledge of sacred music Treasury and liturgical documents helpful.

Responsabilités

• Select music and lead as accompanist for 3 weekend Masses and Holy Days.
• Rehearse with the choir weekly and collaborate with parish staff.
• Schedule cantors, accompanists and instrumentalists for weekend and Holy Day Masses.
• Prepare annual budget for liturgical music and ensure licenses, usage, and copyright information are compliant.
• Recruit and train new choir members and maintain sacred music library.
• Engage in ongoing education on the role of sacred music in liturgy.
