Job summary

St. Mark Parish in Catonsville, MD seeks a part-time Music Coordinator to select liturgically appropriate music for traditional Masses and lead parish music programs.

The role includes cantoring, directing the children's choir, and coordinating music for Holy Week, Christmas, and other liturgies. The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a degree in liturgy or equivalent experience, strong musical skills, and the ability to work with clergy and volunteers to enrich parish

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic willing to engage in the faith life of our parish.
• Degree in Liturgy, Liturgical Music, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the liturgical norms of the Catholic Church and maintaining a respectful and prayerful presence in music ministry.
• Experience as a liturgical musician in organ, piano, vocal and choral conducting in a Catholic parish.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, musicians and parishioners.
• Availability to cantor at weekend Masses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Choosing liturgically appropriate music for the traditional Masses.
• Communicating music selections and liturgical information to musicians in coordination with the Pastor and parish office.
• Cantor for Masses as scheduled.
• Establishes and directs the children's choir, with weekly rehearsals and monthly Masses.
• Serve as substitute adult Choir Director when needed.
• Coordinate music for special liturgies and parish events.
