Job summary

Our Parish seeks a part-time Director of Music Ministries to lead our liturgical music program. This minister serves as primary organist/pianist for weekend liturgies and sacred celebrations and guides choirs and cantors in a parish setting.

The role combines musical excellence with pastoral leadership, fostering sung prayer and active participation in worship. A 4-year degree and 5–10 years directing parish music are preferred, with a supportive, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Accomplished organist/pianist with training and experience in choral conducting and excellence in parish music ministry.
• Knowledgeable in Catholic liturgy and sacred music, traditional and contemporary.
• Catholic with a sense of vocation to serve the Church through music.
• 5–10 years experience directing choirs, accompanying liturgy, and leading parish music programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal organist and pianist for weekend liturgies and sacred celebrations.
• Plan and coordinate music for liturgies with Pastor and staff.
• Direct and rehearse choirs; recruit, train, mentor cantors and instrumentalists.
• Support active participation of the assembly in sung prayer.
• Supervise music budget, library, sound systems, and instruments; ensure copyright compliance.
• Create worship aids and assist in liturgical formation.
