Job summary

West Haven Elementary is seeking a Literacy Aide to provide targeted reading support for students in grades K-3 under the guidance of the literacy coach and teachers. The role focuses on evidence-based interventions aligned with the Science of Reading, maintaining updated reading plans, data collection, and collaboration with staff to monitor progress and adjust interventions.

This is a part-time, in-person position with 5.75 hours per day, 28.75 hours per week, starting Aug 20, 2026, and

Qualifications

• Provides targeted, evidence-based reading interventions.
• Works with teachers and literacy coach to implement plans.
• Maintains updates to individualized reading plans and data.

Responsibilities

• Lead reading interventions aligned with Science of Reading for students with reading plans.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure fidelity and alignment to plans.
• Assist with literacy activities and schedule development.
• Monitor and report progress on reading plans end-to-end.
• Participate in ongoing Science of Reading training.
