Line Cook – Team Member
We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Line Cook with an exceptional attitude, adept at multitasking in a high‑volume, fast‑paced work environment, and who can maintain cordial and professional working relationships with other staff, supervisors, and guests.
Required Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive to work on time, well‑groomed in a clean uniform for every shift
- Always demonstrate a positive attitude, willing to help out where needed
- Follow all Walk-On’s safety, sanitation, and employee guidelines
- Follow day prep sheet and complete all duties assigned
- Set up sani‑buckets, maintain a clean work area during the shift
- Follow proper food rotation, understand how to date and label all items (both prepped and un‑prepped)
- Strictly adhere to Walk-On’s recipes and procedures when preparing any food items
- Practice “clean as you go” techniques to avoid cross‑contamination
- Assist and complete the daily line checklist for shift readiness
- Complete requirements of job without constant supervision
- Use a scale for proper portioning
- Calibrate biothermometers and scales for accurate results
- Follow all HACCP guidelines for heating and cooling of food products
- Assist in checking in, unloading, dating, rotating, and storage of all delivered products
- Assist other employees to complete any tasks during shift
- Dumps trash and cardboard from kitchen into proper receptacles in the back of the restaurant
- Have reliable transportation to and from work
- Adhere to uniform guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing (up to 10+ hours), bending, lifting/carrying items (up to 60 pounds)
- Exposure to heat (up to 1000 °F or more)
- Ability to read recipes, prep sheets, charts in English, understand measuring ingredients by weight and by volume, use ounce and pound scales
- Operate a slicer for cutting meats, cheeses, and vegetables (must be 18 years of age)
- Hear and respond to calls made in kitchen in English
- Operate fryers, char‑grill, flat‑top grill, slicer, and other equipment, accurately and timely prepare all food items as orders are registered

Position Classification
The position is part‑time, defined under federal health reforms as an average of 29 hours or less per week on average. Hours may change based on business needs. A look‑back period of 12 months is used to determine eligibility for benefits. Work hours may exceed 30 hours in some periods. Any changes to full‑time status are formally documented.
