Job summary

South YMCA in Kettering, OH is hiring a Lifeguard for a part-time, non-exempt role. The position pays $11.00–$13.20 per hour and includes free certification/training provided by the YMCA.

Responsibilities include constant pool observation, enforcing safety rules, and assisting with swim instruction when needed. The role requires CPR/First Aid and lifeguard certification through YMCA or ARC.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Currently hold or be able to obtain Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications from the American Red Cross or YMCA, Starguard, Ellis.
• Minimum six months of lifesaving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant observation of the pool area.
• Enforce pool rules and safety guidelines.
• Check equipment and pool chemistry; report hazards.
• May perform Swim Instructor duties as needed.
• Respond to emergencies per YMCA policies; complete incident reports.
