Job summary

The YMCA of Coastal Carolina is seeking a part-time Lifeguard for the Williamsburg County facility in Kingstree, SC. You will monitor pool safety, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies in accordance with YMCA policies.

This role requires current lifeguard certification (BLS/CPR, First Aid, emergency oxygen), the ability to travel with the portable pool within Williamsburg County, and a commitment to a safe, welcoming environment for all members and guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 and ability to maintain certification readiness.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent certification.
• Completion of required Redwoods trainings by deadlines.
• Ability to monitor and supervise children and guests safely.
• Knowledge of pool safety rules and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Adheres to emergency procedures per YMCA policies.
• Writes required reports after incidents.
• Performs equipment checks and ensures availability.
• Travels with portable pool across Williamsburg County.
• Keeps accurate records per health department codes.
