Job summary

VisionWorks in New York is seeking a Part Time Ophthalmic Dispenser to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions and guide eyewear choices. You will apply the SERVE sales process, work with insurance details, and coordinate with labs and optometrists to ensure accuracy.

The role requires state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing and a High School Diploma. You will maintain a clean dispensing area, uphold privacy rules, and support apprentices while providing

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, prescription interpretation, fitting and dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist each customer in frame and lens selection meeting social distance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols and hygiene practices.
• Provide customers with accurate information regarding frames, lens selections and other services.
• Provide information to insured customers about benefits and any charges not covered by third-party coverage.
• Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify needs and make lens recommendations.
• Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions and coordinate with Lab/Optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with accurate measurements and verifications.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Ensure accuracy of customer pricing for retail.
• Maintain license requirements per State Guidelines.
• Provide feedback/guidance to Apprentices where applicable.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company privacy policies.
• Participate in training to meet departmental goals and professional requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations and facility daily.
• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
