County of Los Angeles is seeking Library Associates for the South County area. This temporary, part-time role involves processing library materials, registering borrowers, answering public inquiries, and supporting deliveries and shelving in a busy county library system.

The position requires at least 3 months of direct customer service experience, being 18+, and the ability to perform moderate physical tasks. Evening and weekend shifts may apply.

Qualificações

• Three months of work experience providing direct customer service or public-facing services.
• Age: at least 18 years old.
• Physical Class 3 – Moderate: standing/walking most of the time with bending, squatting, lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Desirable: completion of at least one technical library course.
• Desirable: experience supporting daily public library operations such as shelving, deliveries, guiding customers, maintaining supplies.

Responsabilidades

• Process library materials for customers including check-in/check-out.
• Register new borrowers.
• Explain and enforce library policies and procedures.
• Provide information to the public about library rules, fines, and material location.
• Operate office equipment and assist with various tasks in a small office.
