Job summary

Long County Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to support circulation, reference, and reader’s advisory services. You will check materials in and out, collect fines, assist patrons with online resources, and help with program development and displays.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of public-service experience, and comfort with technology. Work is on-site at the Ludowici location and includes Saturdays. Background check required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience working with the public in a customer service role.
• Comfort using library technology and online resources.

Responsibilities

• Check materials in and out; collect fines and process holds.
• Assist patrons with online resources and databases.
• Support collection management and shelving; assist with displays and program promotion.
• Explain library policies and assist with room bookings and public computer use.
• Prepare and conduct outreach and programs as needed.
