Job summary

County of Los Angeles LA County Library is seeking temporary, part-time Library Associates in the West County Area to support customer service, circulation, shelving, and deliveries in a busy public library setting. Responsibilities include check-in/check-out, registering borrowers, answering questions, enforcing library policies, and assisting with various projects.

Applicants should have at least 3 months of public-facing work and be 18 or older; shifts may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Three months of direct customer service or public-facing experience.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Class 3: ability to stand/walk most of the time and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Process library materials for customers, including check-in and check-out.
Register new borrowers in accordance with established protocols.
Explain and enforce library policies and procedures.
Provide information to the public regarding fines, fees, and material locations.
Operate office equipment and perform incidental duties in a small office setting.
Assist in shelving and moving materials.
Prepare and process deliveries, including packing and unpacking.
Provide support for various tasks and special projects.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
