Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library in Whitestown, IN is seeking a Part-Time Public Services Assistant to join our Whitestown Branch. This 25-hour-per-week position pays $18.93 per hour and offers flexible scheduling and weekend rotation.

You will welcome patrons, assist with library cards, checkouts, holds, and payments, help locate materials, provide basic tech support, and help plan library programs. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service and team-based experience preferred.
• Clear and professional communication.
• Organizational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office and Windows; willingness to learn new technology.
• Ability to work with patrons of diverse needs.
• Familiarity with Dewey Decimal System or Integrated Library Systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patrons and connect them with resources.
• Assist with library cards, check-in/out, holds, payments, and account questions.
• Help locate materials and provide reader recommendations.
• Provide basic technology assistance and troubleshooting.
• Create, promote, and present programs for library patrons.
• Organize, shelve, and process library materials.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Participate in library-wide and community events.
• Occasionally support at another HMMPL location or community event.
