Job summary

The Richmond Memorial Library in Marlborough is seeking a part-time Library Assistant for approximately 11-17 hours per week. Responsibilities include checking materials in and out, placing holds, and assisting patrons with basic tech issues.

There is potential to take on additional hours based on coverage and projects. A Bachelor's degree and customer service background are required; familiarity with Polaris ILS is preferred.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree and customer service background are required.
• Familiarity with an integrated library system (ILS), preferably Polaris.

Responsibilities

• Check library materials in and out and place holds for patrons.
• Pull hold requests, process new materials, and assist with reference questions.
• Help patrons with basic computer issues and re-shelving duties.
• Assist the Youth Services Librarian with bulletin board displays and take-and-make kits.
• Attend outreach events, including trunk-or-treat at the local elementary school.
