Job summary

The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College seeks a part-time library assistant for the Jeanette Albiez Davis Library on the main campus in Rio Grande, Ohio. This position works primarily 4-8 hour shifts during the library's open hours, which includes some evenings and weekends.

The candidate will provide and supervise high-quality customer service for students, faculty, staff, and community members, helping patrons find and use print or electronic resources and supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of the research process.
• Experience with library resources and search tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic computer problems.
• Ability to handle confidential information per policies.
• Oversee security of the library's resources and opening/closing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Service oriented, self-motivated; able to work independently or on a team.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Some prior library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise high quality customer service at in-person and online points.
• Assist students, faculty, staff, and community members with resources.
• Help patrons locate and use print or electronic resources.
• Work 4–8 hour shifts, including some evenings and weekends.
