Job summary

Oglethorpe University Philip Weltner Library seeks an Evening Library Assistant PT to support circulation, public services, and daily operations. The role is 20 hours weekly with a fixed Sunday–Thursday shift from 5–9 pm or 5–10 pm, offering consistent scheduling.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, helping patrons with accounts, reserves and tech, supervising student workers, assisting with outreach and programs, and contributing to workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; MLIS or MAS preferred.
• Evening availability required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with library systems and statistics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with circulation and public services operations.
• Supervise student assistants during shifts.
• Engage in library outreach and programming.
• Develop and streamline library procedures.
• Collect usage data and assist assessment.
• Support events and university programming.
