Job summary

Grand Rapids Public Library is seeking a part-time paraprofessional to provide direct customer service across in-person, phone, and email channels. You will assist with accounts, basic reference, technology support, and reading guidance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and about 20–24 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. Spanish-friendly candidates are preferred, and a cover letter via GRPL’s portal is requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of customer service, library, cash handling, or office experience or equivalent.
• Spanish language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and assist patrons with accounts and reference services.
• Provide technology support and navigate digital resources.
• Respond to inquiries and guide patrons to staff.
• Assist with planning and implementing programs and community outreach.
• Handle cash and process supply requests.
• Maintain statistics on resources and programs.
