Job summary

Brazoria County’s library seeks a part-time Library Assistant to support patrons, manage circulation, and assist with programs. 20 hours weekly, including some evenings and Saturdays, at county libraries. Strong attention to confidentiality and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Experience or training in library services is preferred.
• Must be able to work 20 hours weekly including evenings and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the public service desk and provide customer service.
• Operate ILS to check in/out materials and process requests.
• Handle overdue, lost, and damaged item procedures.
• Process payments and prepare daily revenue reports.
• Record daily statistics and assist with library programs.
• Sort, shelve, and organize collections.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow county policies.
