Job summary

Fort Bend County’s George Memorial Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant for Adult Services. You will assist at reference desks, help patrons use public computers to access the catalog and databases, and support circulation desk operations.

You may help with programming for adults and shelf-reading duties. Qualifications include a high school diploma and 48 college credit hours, along with strong communication skills and the ability to lift materials up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and 48 college credit hours.
• Experience working with adults in groups preferred.
• Typing and keyboarding skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact easily with staff and public.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift library materials up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist at reference desks and answer reference questions.
• Help patrons use public computers to access catalog and databases.
• Assist at circulation desk and perform shelf-reading duties.
• Complete book and AV processing or other duties as assigned.
• Attend reference training and continue learning resources.
• Study databases and resources to stay familiar with information resources.
