Job summary

Marathon County Public Library in Athens is seeking a Branch Coordinator for the Athens branch. The 30-hour-per-week role requires coordinating daily branch operations, supervising staff, and ensuring welcoming, high-quality services for patrons of all ages.

Hours may include days, evenings, and Saturdays to meet staffing demands. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree preferred with two years of public library or customer service experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with two years of experience in a public library or related customer service environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, train, and work effectively with a diverse team.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Athens branch, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and service coverage.
• Supervise, train, mentor, and support branch staff and participate in the performance review process.
• Serve as a liaison between branch staff and library administration, fostering open communication.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patrons with circulation, reference, technology, and library resources.
