Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a Part-Time Assistant II in the Library Joint Use to provide friendly, efficient service to students, staff and the public. You will assist patrons with locating materials, check in/out items, manage study rooms, and help with ID badges using the library system.

This role focuses on evening and weekend coverage, supports circulation operations, and requires strong communication and organizational skills to maintain a welcoming library environment.

• Working knowledge of office practice and procedures.
• Working knowledge of personal computers and common office software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work nights and/or weekend shifts

Responsibilities

• Open and close library during specified hours and secure equipment and cashbox; manage circulation.
• Process holds and interlibrary loan requests and notify patrons via email.
• Collect fines, balance cash, update patron records and use library systems for circulation.
• Assist patrons in person, by phone, and via email; support the Circulation Desk with related duties.
• Provide back-up support to Learning Center and assist with library programs as needed.
