Job summary

Masterson Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Library Assistant to support the Library Services team in Eagan, MN. The role involves shelving, processing materials, and assisting staff and patrons with resources in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree and customer service experience; library background is a plus. This is a part-time position with a daytime schedule and LC classification responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
• Library Science coursework or related field preferred.
• One to two years of customer service experience preferred.
• Previous library experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shelve, organize, and maintain library materials according to LC classification standards and retention guidelines.
• File and update loose-leaf materials, pocket parts, advance sheets, and supplements.
• Receive, unpack, sort, and distribute books and library materials throughout the facility.
• Shift, reorganize, and relocate library collections as needed to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Assist employees in locating library resources and materials.
• Maintain collection accuracy and organization.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support special projects as assigned.
