The Computer Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking part‑time lecturer positions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Part‑time appointments are made from a pool of accepted applicants, as determined by need and contingent on funding. The initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

Responsibilities
  • Teach computer engineering courses, such as digital design, computer architecture, embedded systems, and other related subjects.
  • Demonstrate experience and commitment to student‑centered learning and teaching, and collaborate in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Communicate effectively in written and oral English.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, with multiple years of applicable industry experience, or M.S. in a similar field.
  • Effective communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • University teaching experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Relevant work experience and professional capabilities.
Special Conditions

The person holding this position is considered a “mandated reporter” under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083.
