Job summary

Corewell Health's Nutrition Services team in Grand Rapids is seeking a Lead Technician to ensure cost-effective, high-quality food and nutritional services for patients, staff, and visitors. You will monitor service delivery and help solve departmental concerns through collaboration and sound decision-making.

Responsibilities include sanitation leadership, training new staff, managing cash handling and end-of-day deposits, and supporting adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience in food service, preferably in health care setting or related field.
• CFP - ANSI National Accreditation Board certification (Food Protection Manager).
• Preferred leadership experience and an associate's degree in hospitality or nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Teaches and maintains correct sanitation and personal hygiene procedures throughout assigned areas, e.g., following proper dress code.
• Applies reasonable judgment to interpretation of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Oversees day-end cash out and daily deposits; makes cash register program changes when applicable.
• Ensures proper preparation and service of meals; proper storage, labeling and dating of items.
• Responsible for training of new staff.
• May lead new hire department orientation or perform other technical tasks.
