Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Lead Hospital Officer to supervise detainees in hospital settings, ensuring custody and adherence to medical protocols. The role requires enforcing restraint guidelines, maintaining line-of-sight at all times, and logging all shift activity.

The position demands state firearms, security licenses, and a background in corrections or law enforcement, with flexibility for overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of continuous law enforcement-related experience, including 2 years as a lead supervisor or completion of GEO's Supervision Training.
• State Firearms License must be possessed.
• State Security Guard License must be possessed.
• Must complete an approved training program resulting in certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.

Responsibilities

• Supervise detainees in the hospital and maintain custody at all times.
• Follow restraint protocols and ensure medical procedures are not hindered by restraints.
• Ensure detainees may not receive outside visitors unless contractually required or by court order.
• Complete duty logs and reports; report unusual events to Transportation Supervisor.
• Ensure safety measures and compliance with all applicable laws and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
