Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking a Hospital Officer to supervise detainees in a hospital setting. You will maintain custody, follow restraint protocols, and ensure safety during medical procedures and transport.

The role requires compliance with contracts, court orders, and internal policies, with opportunities for overtime, travel, and shift flexibility. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in law enforcement or corrections, relevant licenses, and certified training in Corrections or Law

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state requisites for employment.
• Three (3) years' experience handling prisoners as a Law Enforcement Officer, Corrections, Detention, or Military Police Officer.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must possess a State Firearms License.
• Must possess a personal sidearm with Level III retention holster and State Security Guard License.
• Must have completed an approved training program resulting in a certification of satisfactory completion in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Ability to work overtime frequently.
• Ability to travel extended periods with frequent overnight stays.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress of extended hours.
• Must be able to regularly report to work without being late.
• Ability to be physically alert on any shift assigned.
• Ability to work up to sixteen (16) hours within a rolling 24-hour period.
• Mature, flexible, and able to command respect of inmates and staff; tolerate mental stress.
• Ability to work with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• Maintains custody and control of detainees in the hospital at all times.
• Follows restraint protocols outlined in Medical Guarding Procedures.
• Ensures restraints do not interfere with medical procedures or harm the detainee.
• Positioning is always within eyesight of the detainee.
• Prevents outside visitors unless contract or court order requires.
• Prevents detainees from making telephone calls unless contract requires.
• Completes all paperwork accurately and submits to Transportation Supervisor.
• Completes duty log detailing events during the shift; reports unusual events.
• Ensures detainees are properly secured prior to leaving the hospital.
• Adheres to safety measures and all applicable laws and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
