Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Hospital Officer to supervise detainees in a hospital setting, maintaining custody and following medical guarding protocols.

The role requires strict adherence to restraint procedures and continuous monitoring of detainee safety. Responsibilities include ensuring communications, accurate paperwork, and secure transfers, while complying with all pertinent regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; meet state requirements.
• 3 years’ experience handling prisoners in law enforcement or corrections.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• State Firearms License.
• State Security Guard License.
• Completed an approved training program in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.

Responsibilities

• Maintains custody and control of detainees in the hospital at all times.
• Follows restraint protocols as outlined in Medical Guarding Procedures.
• Ensures restraints do not interfere with medical procedures or harm the detainee.
• Positioning kept within eyesight of the detainee at all times.
• Detainees not allowed outside visitors unless required by contract or court order.
• No telephone calls unless required by contract.
• Completes paperwork and reports; submits to Transportation Supervisor per policies.
• Maintains duty log detailing shift events and reports unusual events to supervisor.
• Ensures detainees are properly secured prior to leaving the hospital.
• Adheres to all safety measures and applicable laws and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
