Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable Part-Time Lead Cook for Cheboygan County Jail in Cheboygan, MI. The role combines cooking duties with a leadership position in a correctional kitchen, supporting inmates and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Starting pay is $21.00 per hour with benefits, and the job requires weekend/holiday availability and the ability to work 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. Training and long-term employment opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a structured correctional environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guidelines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Weekend and holiday availability.
• Flexibility to work varying days and hours between 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
• Ability to obtain facility clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to recipes and standards.
• Oversee inmates in the kitchen and assist with food prep.
• Lead kitchen operations during assigned shifts.
• Train and support team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
• Follow facility requirements and food safety procedures.
• Ensure daily kitchen operations run efficiently.
