Job summary

Valley Hope of Boonville is seeking a part-time Food Service Specialist II (Tues, Wed, Thurs 10 AM - 6 PM plus every other weekend 5 AM – 1 PM). The role involves safe food handling, menu planning, and assisting with meal prep in a residential treatment setting near Columbia, MO.

Training and lead duties may be available for the right candidate. Qualifications include at least six months of kitchen experience, a Food Permit/Handler's Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days), and preferred

Qualifications

• Six months experience as prep cook/line cook or in a commercial/institutional kitchen.
• Food Permit/Handler's Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience training others in food preparation.
• Three years of cooking experience preferred; lead cook/team lead experience in dietary dept/restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe food handling and hygiene per protocols.
• Organize weekly facility menus and ensure staff/patients follow menus.
• Assist with daily meal prep and adjust recipes for census fluctuations.
• Prepare meals for special diets per guidelines and orders.
• Serve meals with a pleasant demeanor and ensure proper portioning.
