Job summary

Valley Hope Boonville is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Specialist II to join our residential treatment facility near Columbia, MO. The role supports three daily meals and snacks, adheres to strict safety and hygiene standards, and assists with menus and dietary requirements.

The ideal candidate has kitchen experience, a Food Handler's Card, and a willingness to train others. This position offers non-traditional hours including weekends and shifts from 10 AM to 6 PM on Tue/Wed/Thu with

Qualifications

• Six months experience as a prep cook, line cook, or in a commercial/institutional kitchen.
• Food Permit/Handler's Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience training others in food preparation.
• Experience ordering dietary supplies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe food handling and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas, with proper hand hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, and temperature checks.
• Organize weekly menus and ensure staff/patients follow menus and have needed ingredients and recipes.
• Provide menu change recommendations and ensure changes are pre-approved by Dietician or regulator.
• Assist staff/patients in daily meal prep according to menus and adjust recipes for census changes.
• Prepare meals and snacks according to Special Diet needs and program guidelines.
