Perimeter Behavioral Health of the Ozarks in Springdale, AR, is seeking a dependable Part-Time Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals for adolescents in our residential program. You will follow safety standards and dietary needs while supporting a team focused on healing and recovery.

Join a healthcare kitchen serving about 55–60 patients and staff, with weekend shifts and occasional extra weekday coverage as needed to cover leaves or call-outs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Food safety certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days.
• Reliable transportation.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Commercial kitchen experience helpful.
• Healthcare food service or large-scale meal prep preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals on schedule following recipes and facility menus.
• Follow therapeutic diet requirements and accommodate dietary restrictions.
• Monitor food quality and temperatures during preparation and service.
• Use and maintain kitchen equipment, including thermometers.
• Adjust portions and meal preparation to meet nutritional needs.
• Coordinate with dietary staff on meal planning and preparation.
• Communicate with the healthcare team about patients’ dietary needs.
• Help train and guide kitchen helpers and participate in inventory management.

Schedule

• Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Available shifts: 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Additional weekday coverage may be needed when other cooks are on leave or call out

About the Role

As a Cook, you’ll prepare and serve meals in a healthcare setting while following food safety standards and patients’ dietary needs. Kitchen staff prepare meals for approximately 55–60 patients and staff.

What You’ll Do

Food preparation and service

• Prepare and serve meals on schedule, following standardized recipes and facility menus
• Follow therapeutic diet requirements and accommodate dietary restrictions
• Monitor food quality and temperatures during preparation and service
• Use and maintain kitchen equipment, including thermometers
• Adjust portions and meal preparation to meet nutritional needs

Safety and sanitation

• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, orderly, and sanitary
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Store and label food properly
• Record food temperatures and maintain clean workstations

Teamwork

• Coordinate with dietary staff on meal planning and preparation
• Communicate with the healthcare team about patients’ dietary needs
• Help train and guide kitchen helpers
• Participate in menu planning and inventory management

Qualifications
