Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier and/or Stocker who can lead in the absence of store leadership. You will help implement plan-o-grams, provide exemplary customer service, protect assets, and support profitability and teamwork.

Duties include unloading trucks, stocking, pricing, operating the register, assisting customers, maintaining a clean store, and helping ensure a safe, organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in basic math and cash handling procedures.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions and payment processing.
• Familiarity with plan-o-gram guidance and merchandise presentation.
• Ability to read and follow safety policies and store procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload, receive, open, and stock merchandise; rotate and face stock.
• Operate the cash register, total purchases, and bag items.
• Provide superior customer service and assist shoppers.
• Ensure store cleanliness and safety; maintain plan-o-grams.
• Open/close the store per Area Manager directions; assist in loss prevention.
• Lead in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager; signs refunds when appropriate.
