Job summary

Sinclair College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Modern Languages (French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, German) at our Dayton campus and other campuses in the region. The role involves delivering curriculum developed by the department and guiding students through language and culture studies.

The position supports flexible day, evening, online, and weekend courses, with eligibility restricted to residents of Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the content area or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• Member of the ACTFL preferred
• Ability to fluently speak a foreign language preferred (Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Spanish)
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills in a community college environment
• Must possess skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching strategies and use instructional technology when appropriate.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse students’ needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to support learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and final grade rosters.
