Job summary

Nampa hospital is seeking a Lactation Consultant to provide professional infant nutrition and lactation care in collaboration with the health care team. The position is part-time, day shift, with two 8-hour shifts on Thursdays and Fridays, plus one weekend every 6-8 weeks. Additional hours may be available as needed.

The role emphasizes documentation, patient advocacy, teaching, and leadership in breastfeeding care, with opportunities for community outreach and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• IBCLC certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Licensed health care professional (RN, RD, OT, PT) preferred in Idaho.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infant nutrition or maternal and child health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional infant nutrition and lactation care in collaboration with the health care team.
• Document services accurately and maintain complete records.
• Advise and mentor staff in perinatal clinical settings and lead breastfeeding initiatives.
• Coordinate nursing interventions and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.
• Participate in community outreach, teaching and educational opportunities.

Education
