Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital is seeking a part-time RN Lactation Consultant to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding care using the nursing process. You will provide education, counseling, and clinical support to new mothers across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role requires an RN license, BLS-HCP, BSN within four years, and IBCLC certification. Outpatient visits and home follow-ups may be included, along with staff education and policy development support.

Formación

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS-HCP certification required or to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• BSN within four years of hire or promotion date.
• IBCLC certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates breastfeeding management for patients using the nursing process.
• Provides holistic, evidence-based breastfeeding support and care from preconception to weaning.
• Provides support for patients, suggests strategies for breastfeeding, and addresses patient issues and concerns.
• Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes; delivers education for patients and families.
• Provides outpatient care, consultation, and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties.
• Acts as a clinical expert/resource for staff on lactation and current standards of practice; facilitates policy development to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
• Participates in the development of educational programs and assesses the educational needs of healthcare providers.
