Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant RN for the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. The role focuses on lactation education, care planning, and collaboration with pediatric teams to support new mothers and babies.

This part-time, day-shift position (20 hours/week) offers opportunities to round in L&D, postpartum, and NICU, with a self-scheduling tool and a differential for weekend coverage. IBCLC certification and RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state of practice.
• IBCLC, CLC, CBC or CBS certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• NRP Certification must be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient lactation needs and develop individualized feeding plans.
• Provide direct education to patients and families on breastfeeding, latching and pumping.
• Deliver continuing education to staff on lactation practices.
• Collaborate with pediatrics and speech therapy to support mother-baby care.
• Document assessments and care plans in the patient record.
