Virtual Service Operations is seeking a part-time System Engineer to provide L1/L2 IT support with on-site presence in Tempe, AZ. You will maintain Windows and Linux environments, manage servers, and uphold security protocols while documenting procedures.

The role emphasizes on-site support twice weekly, strong communication, and teamwork within a growing client relationship. Prior ITSM experience and scripting skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in system administration or L1/L2 technical support.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Working knowledge of Linux system administration and command-line operations.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Understanding in network troubleshooting and TCP/IP fundamentals.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems and ITSM processes.
• Knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery procedures.
• Understanding of change management and incident management frameworks.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Windows Server and AD services.
• Admin Linux systems (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) with scripting.
• Handle server hardware troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot network (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Support VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V.
• Backup and recovery operations.
• Patch management and security monitoring.
• Performance monitoring and optimization.
• ITSM ticket resolution and escalation.
• Desktop support for Windows and Linux clients.
• Imaging and deployment (SCCM/WDS).
• Asset/inventory control and printer support.
• Tech Bar/center support.
• Hardware diagnostics and replacement.
• Network connectivity troubleshooting.
