Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a patient, energetic Swim Instructor to bring our curriculum to life in the water and guide children through foundational safety and swim skills. This part-time, non-exempt role requires you to engage families, track progress, and uphold safety on the pool deck while working evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Reliable, upbeat, and ready to show energy every shift.
• Eagerness to obtain Lifeguard certification and growth.
• Experience as lifeguard, youth coach, camp counselor, or childcare.
• Comfortable in the water; swimming experience preferred.
• Natural communicator with kids and parents.
• Detail-oriented with tracking multiple students.
• Evening and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum with consistency, energy, and a focus on student growth.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations on the pool deck daily to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment.
• Accurately evaluate student progress and complete skill evaluations on time.
• Connect with parents and guardians after lessons to share student updates, celebrate wins, and address concerns with care.
• Use creative problem-solving to help students work through challenges and keep progressing.
• Maintain and properly store all pool equipment, including placing and removing lane lines.
• Assist with light cleaning duties such as deck mopping, window washing, and trash removal as needed.
