Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. is seeking an Event Coordinator in the Richmond area to plan, coordinate, and facilitate in-store events, including children’s parties. You will engage guests, guide activities, and ensure a positive, stress-free experience throughout the visit.

You will also assist customers with shopping, provide fast checkout, and promote rewards programs while supporting store operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating events in a retail or service environment.
• Ability to handle guest inquiries, plan activities, and manage timelines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills across all ages.
• Experience with party activities, crafts, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within the Michaels store (including kids parties).
• Engage guests of all ages with fun, creative activities and demonstrations.
• Assist customers with shopping and provide fast, friendly checkout experiences.
• Enroll customers in Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards; guide VOC surveys.
• Support omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS) and store operations.
