Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Charlottesville is seeking a Part-time Party and Event Host to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other celebrations. You will engage with guests of all ages, helping them shop and enjoy a festive experience.

You will lead activities, perform face painting, and drive add-ons like goody bags while ensuring safety and company standards. Evening and weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Excellent people skills.
• Good communication skills in written, verbal, and nonverbal forms; listening skills emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (children’s parties and craft classes).
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide party activities, including face painting and crafts.
